G force movie4/1/2023 G-Force is backed by Walt Disney, so we can expect light-hearted, morally fulfilling fare. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer brings his first 3-D film to the big screen with G-Force, a comedy adventure about the latest evolution of a covert government. A guinea pig runs full-force into a glass wall, his face is shown smashing into the glass and he then passes out on. A guinea pig falls to the ground as a giant robot rips through a house and yard. A guinea pig, flying through the air, kicks a dog and then crashes into a bush. With this offering, visual effects Oscar-winner Hoyt Yeatman gets his first crack at directing a feature and I am sure something in the mold of Shrek - or Shark Tale at the very least - is desired. A man throws a mole, in a plastic bag, into a trash compacting truck. Alas, with Nicolas Cage voicing Spreckles the mole, Steve Buscemi as Bucky the hamster, Tracy Morgan as Blaster the guinea pig and Penelope Cruz as Juarez, moviegoers can feel confident that the Earth is in better hands than Allstate can offer. Maybe he is only a multi-millionaire now given the current state of affairs. I wonder if that billionaire has his money in the stock market. Think Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters (why do I know that?) commissioned by the US government to stop an evil billionaire (is there any other kind?) who plans to destroy the world with household appliances. The movie revolves around a team of highly trained secret agent guinea pigs. With a cast like that, it has to be an animated film, right? Bingo. G-Force: Guardians of Space (1986) is the second American animated television adaptation of the Japanese anime series Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (1972), following Sandy Frank Entertainments initial 1978 effort Battle of the Planets and preceding ADV Films 2005 attempt, known merely as Gatchaman. This is an adventure pic, produced by the venerable Jerry Bruckheimer and featuring the voices of Nic Cage, Steve Buscemi, Penelope Cruz and Tracy Morgan. If professional drag racing’s Ashley Force was named G, this might be a movie about her, but there is no such luck here. Why am I thinking of that line? There's an upcoming movie named G-Force, of course. down! I believe it was the immortal autobot Optimus Prime who uttered that phrase in an episode of Transformers from the original TV show. Yet Cage nevertheless found a way to invest himself and his artistry into a loud, clattering contraption otherwise devoid of spirit and soul. G-Force has no personality, vision or sense of what it wants to be beyond busy nonsense for small children.
